New Years Weight Loss Plan

New Years Weight Loss Plan: "Every year, from November to December, people eat, eat and eat. After 2 months of binging on every cake, candy and turkey meal, they realize that they have put on a few extra pounds. Does this sound like you? Well, here is a New Years weight loss plan that will help you to shed those extra pounds.

Weight is lost by two different methods. Either you reduce your calorie intake to less than what you are burning off, or you increase the amount of calories that you are burning by exercising to more calories than you take in. The math is simple, but dieting can be hard work. Especially if you have a sweet tooth or are just used to eating whatever you want. But, you should not be afraid to try to put together a New Years weight loss plan that will benefit you, not only now, but in the future.

Some of the considerations you should think about are:

Set a clear weight loss goal - You cannot reach what you cannot see. If you set a goal of losing 20 pounds in the next 4 months, you will have a target and will be able to break down that goal into smaller 'bites.' Without a goal, you would just be shooting for the stars.

Do not turn to starvation or fasting diets - Your body is a machine that takes fuel to run efficiently. If you do not feed the machine, it will actually slow down your metabolism and hurt your weight loss. Rather than stop eating, eat smaller meals more frequently. That way, your body will consistently burn calories, rather than have giant swings.

Drink plenty of water - Your body is made of over 60% water. If your body gets dehydrated, your metabolism will also slow down. Water also will act as a appetite suppressant. And if you are thinking of taking any weight loss pills, you will need to make sure your body's water level is replenished.

Find a good diet resource and stick to it - There are a lot of diets available, but you need to find the one that works for you. There are ones that include a lot of exercise, and ones that revolve around eating the right foods. Pick the right one for your goal and situation and you will have a better chance of success.

If you take these few considerations into mind for your New Years weight loss plan, you will have a better chance of being successful and hitting your goals. Keep in mind, you are not the only one who has put on a few extra pounds, and you won't be the only one dieting in January. Here's to your success!
